My Personal Manifesto of Software Engineering

History

Having written programs starting at the age of 10 (TMS 1600 4bit machine code), experimenting with BASIC and Modula-2 on Motorola 68000 and intel 80386, in the later 1990s i enjoyed a basic education in programming, absolving courses on PASCAL and C and an extended traineeship in web development for a mid-scale online media agency and web hosting provider in the city of Mannheim in southwest Germany .

I received academic education on principles of imperative, object-oriented and logical programming and theoretical and practical information science at several colleges and universities all across Germany between 2000 and 2007. I studied undergraduate mathematics at the University of Heidelberg and the Humboldt-University of Berlin and information technology at the University of Cooperative Education (Berufsakademie, BA) of Ravensburg. It is probably safe to state that i know that a „halting problem“ can occur, that i can offer at least one explanation for why some numbers are called „real“ while others are not, and that i am aware that there is more than one sort of „trees“.

My formal degree is that of a specialized information scientist for application development (Fachinformatiker Anwendungsentwicklung) which i received in 2005 from the board of industry and commerce (Industrie- und Handelskammer, IHK) of the Rhein-Neckar district in southwest Germany.
